- The European Union will be the first region to fully regulate the uses of artificial intelligence (AI). States and the European Parliament have reached a provisional agreement on a law that aims to ensure that AI systems used in the EU are safe and respect fundamental rights and European values. This law, which is intended to become a reference for other regions, contains the necessary flexibility to regulate as yet unknown functions or technologies and to adapt to future changes.11.
